Design Principles, Anthropometric and Ergonomic Exploration
The study of material, structure, anthropometry and ergonomics to create an isolation chamber which expresses personal experiences during the pandemic.
I learned how crucial ergonomics influences the design of a space, and expand my knowledge on basic structure and the many types of joineries.
The Artist
The Artist was designed to be a cocoon of sorts that is a safe and private space for the user to create art, read or relax. This was because during the pandemic, I found myself painting big art pieces on the floor as the table for wasn't big enough and so I thought to create a structure that allows the user to do just that but without the back pain and strain.
The element and principle chosen is Shape and Scale with rhythm added to tie in the design. The banal action chosen was sitting.
